01

Getting Started

Sign in on the web, set up your profile, then add the app to your phone. A few steps and the whole conference is in your pocket.

Do these two steps first, or nothing syncs

You must sign in and then set up your profile before the app can pull your details from ConfTool. Skip either one and your schedule, badge and registration will not appear. Steps 1 and 2 below are required, everything after is optional polish.

Required · Step 1

Sign in or sign up at icd-southampton.com

Go to icd-southampton.com. If you have already registered, sign in with your email and password. If not, tap Sign Up and fill in your details.

You will then receive a confirmation code by email. If it does not arrive, check your spam or junk folder. Enter the code, then wait for an administrator to approve your account. Once you are approved, return and sign in.

Important: use the same primary email address you use on ConfTool for both sign up and sign in, so the app can match you to your conference registration. A different email will not match.

Required · Step 2

Set up your profile first — this triggers the sync

Open My Profile, tap Edit, and complete your details. Until you set up your profile, the app will not pull your information from ConfTool — nothing will sync.

Add your photo, affiliation, country, job title, research areas, and your dietary and accessibility needs. You control what others can see with per-field privacy toggles.

Install it to your home screen

It is a Progressive Web App, so it runs full screen with its own icon. iPhone (Safari): Share, then Add to Home Screen. Android (Chrome): tap Install when prompted. Installing unlocks push notifications and faster access.

Turn on notifications

From My Profile, enable push notifications and tap Allow. You will get schedule changes, "session starting soon" alerts, meeting requests and emergency broadcasts, even when the app is closed.

Land on the Agenda

Once you are in, the app opens to the live Agenda, the full programme for 21 to 25 June. From here, everything is a tap away.

03

Download all papers as one ZIP, neatly separated into folders by session.
How to get papers

Three ways to read

01

View in the app

Open any paper's full details and read the PDF inside a built-in viewer. No need to leave the app or hunt for a file.

02

Download a single paper

Grab just the paper you want to keep, for offline reading on the train or in a session.

03

Download the whole ZIP

Pull every paper in one archive, automatically organised into folders by session, so the full proceedings live on your device.

05

The "More" Menu

Everything else is one tap away: your personal planning tools, social features, and ways to explore the programme.

My Schedule

Your favourited sessions and assigned talks in one timeline, with clash detection when two overlap, plus your favourite attendees.

My Submissions

The talks & posters you authored. Edit details and upload your slides or poster file. Presenters, start here.

Networking

Send and track meeting requests (pending, accepted or declined). Built-in anti-spam keeps it friendly with limited requests and no duplicates.

Gala Dinner

See your table, and pick or change your own seat with the interactive seat picker. Your dietary needs come along for the ride.

Excursions

Browse tours with dates, meeting points, capacity and price. Register, favourite, and get scanned in on the day.

Keynotes

The headline speakers and their talks, with bios and downloadable slides in the built-in PDF viewer.

Committees

Who is behind the conference: officers, advisory and technical programme committees, and local organisers.

Workshop

The conference workshop: suggested topics, organisers, technical chairs and keynote speakers with bios.

Lost & Found

A community board. Post lost or found items with photos; organisers moderate before posts go public. Mark resolved when reunited.

Speakers

A showcase of keynote, invited, tutorial and regular speakers, with photos, bios and links, grouped by type.

Topics & Tracks

Tap any topic badge to gather every session, talk and poster under that theme, then "View All Papers" for a focused list.

Room Schedules

Tap a room name to see everything happening there, with a tab for each day. Perfect for settling into one hall.

Feedback

Short, optional, anonymous surveys for the workshop and the app itself. Help shape next year.

★ Award track

Young Researcher Award

A filtered view of YRA entries. The gold ★ YRA badge appears throughout the app. Tap it to land here.

06

Inside a Session

Tap any item in the Agenda to go deeper: live questions, running timers, and the details of every event.

Live Q&A

During a session, submit a question, upvote others so the best rise to the top, and see the questions the chair has pinned.

Timers & live status

Live sessions are highlighted, a session and presentation timer keeps speakers to time, and a countdown shows the next break.

Events

Not everything is a session. Tap a break, lunch, reception, dinner or tour for its time, location and what is provided.

07

Built For Every Role

You can hold more than one role. The app detects each from your account and reveals the right tools, nothing to switch by hand.

Tips, Privacy & Help

Get the most from the app, stay in control of your data, and fix the common snags fast.

Your privacy, your call

Sensitive fields (email, phone, dietary, accessibility and emergency contact) are private by default. You decide exactly what other attendees see using the per-field privacy toggles in My Profile. Names, affiliations, job titles, countries and research areas are the only things shared by default.

Make the most of the app
  • Install it and allow notifications, so you never miss a "session starting soon" or schedule change.
  • Set up your profile right away, so the app can pull your details from ConfTool.
  • Favourite (★) liberally. Sessions, talks, posters and people all feed into My Schedule.
  • Keep dietary & accessibility info current. They drive catering and gala seating.
  • Pull down to refresh any list for the latest programme.
I cannot sign in
Make sure you are using the same primary email address you use on ConfTool. If you just signed up, check that you entered the email confirmation code (look in your spam or junk folder) and that an administrator has approved your account. New accounts can only sign in after approval.
My details are not showing
Open My Profile and tap Edit to set up your profile. The app only pulls your information from ConfTool after you have completed this step at least once.
Not getting notifications
Check you tapped Allow for notifications, that you have installed the app to your home screen, and that notifications are not disabled in your phone or browser settings. You can re-enable them from My Profile.
A download will not start
Downloads are rate-limited to keep things fair for everyone. Wait about a minute and try again. The full ZIP can be large, so a stable connection helps.
Something looks out of date
Pull to refresh. The programme is updated live by the organisers, so always trust the in-app Agenda over any printed copy. Still stuck? Ask at the registration desk or message the organisers.
